Since I was first left breathless by the sight of the Montana snow-capped mountain peaks, they have beckoned. Trying now to portray those crags with color and brush I attempt to study how the snow builds up on the peaks in the winter and watch how it will melt in the spring and finally disappear from the lesser mountain heights by mid-summer. All this presents a continuing, and wonderful inspiration as I begin to understand better the structure and shape of the mountains.
