1979-1999-Core Faculty, Stanford Professional Publishing Course, Stanford, California. Taught Magazine Design and Book Design. Introduced critical "Projects" element to the international SPP Course.

Career experience

1968-1972-Art Director of two of San Diego's top Advertising Agencies
1973-1991-Formed Design Quarter-a full service graphic design firm
1992-2002-Formed Tehabi Books, a visual book (Coffee-table book) Publishing Company in San Diego which grew from six persons to over thirty employees. Was responsible for the Design and Production and Publishing of some 100 titles and selling over six million total copies. Served as Senior Vice President, Design Director, and Publisher

2007-2013–Invited to participate in numerous Plein Air paintouts

2010 annual co-sponsored Hockaday Museum/Glacier National Park Plein Air Invitational celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Glacier National Park

2012-2013 Presented numerous Oil Painting workshops in Polson, Whitefish, and Bigfork, Montana

Shafers is one of Bigfork's newest resturants in Woods Bay and features an amazing chef. They also feature some twenty of my paintings—both Western Wildlands and Western Wildlife. For a special treat find your way to Mountain Lake Lodge for a culinary and visual treat.

Home Gallery and Studio

It has been a eventful year exploring new styles and techniques. I have been intrigued with painting intensely colorful canvases using rich applications of paint applied with a pallete knife and bold brush strokes. These pieces can be viewed at our Home Gallery and Studio at 546 Grand Drive, in Bigfork. Give me a call and we'll make an appointment for you to come by. The works will also be displayed on our deck overlooking Bigfork Bay the first weekend in August at the Bigfork Festival of the Arts.

Annual August Deck Show

Each summer on the first weekend in August during the Bigfork Festival of the Arts we hang my paintings on the deck of our Home Gallery and Studio overlooking Bigfork Bay. As there is no parking downtown during the fesival It is right on your stroll from nearby parking at the school and just a short stroll downtown. Please join us for a relaxing quiet respite and enjoy appropriate refreshments before or after your visit to the festival.
